Fiesta ware questions.......- UPDATE
Fiesta Exclusive Meadow Mini Pitcher. Fiesta Bistro Latte Mug. I would prefer to get a rimmed soup bowl instead of the cereal ones - they usually fit better in dishwashers. And I would get the java mugs, or tapered mugs, not the standard ones or tea cups - the one-finger design on the original mugs does not work well.
With a hot drink in there, my finger gets overly toasty to the point of "set it down or burn my finger" , and it is not very stable to hold. Light colors like ivory, white and yellow can get some marks from flatware on them - though I think they could be scrubbed off with the right cleaner. Otherwise, I love them. I really like that we can add pieces whenever, and the variety of pieces. I wish I they would bring back a color like Juniper, dark teal-y green. Do buy them on sale.

They are heavy, and we have never had them chip, but we have broken a few dropped onto cement, or into the cast iron sink from a height. It takes a lot, though. Join Date Feb Posts 5, I loooooove my Fiesta ware! Love opening the dishwasher and pulling out all the bright and cheery colors I have a rainbow assortment, which might be strange, but it's fun to make different color combinations when setting the table, for holidays, etc.
I also have a set of white Mikasa dishes from Macy's, but we almost never use those now that we have the Fiesta ware. My favorites are the poppy bright orangeish-red , teal, yellow sunflower, I think? We have dinner plates We also have a variety of color of mugs though I don't drink coffee, they're nice for entertaining to remind everyone which mug is theirs , but no saucers 'cuz I don't have the cupboard space.
On the mugs, make sure you like holding them; I have one that came with the boxed set, with a tiny little round handle, and got the rest of the mugs in the bigger size not huge, just reg. I also have more red plates for Christmas dinners, etc. The ones we use least are our white, cream, and yellow ones, though, as they don't provide enough contrast to a lot of our foods chicken breasts, etc.
So we use the blues, greens, purple, poppy, red a lot. We also have a red platter, pitcher, and bowl for serving and display. The big pieces are pretty pricey, just a warning. Definitely check Macy's and Herberger's, Dillards, etc. I've checked Kohls online a lot, too, but Macy's is just easier for me and had better deals I didn't want the box sets, and they don't have as much selection as Macy's and the other dept.
I really wish I would have known about Fiesta ware back when we got married; I totally would've registered for them, though it's nice to know now what is practical with kids and fits in our dishwasher, etc. Hope that helps!
